| CORPICRUDI are Samantha Stella and Sergio Frazzingaro (Genoa,
Italy). Since late 2003 they are working on hybrid projects between
contemporary art, music and style focusing on aesthetic harmony. In the
conviction that art must dispense harmony and that aesthetics is its
fundamental element, the research developed by corpicrudi is
based on the Oscar Wilde’s theme of the pretence, and the necessity of
finding in it the only possible approach to the representation of the idea of
beauty. "..Their videos and photographic works focus on the same quest for icy, concise, no-frills beauty that is made of contained and ritual voluptuousness... In actual fact, to Samantha and Sergio, beauty is politics: without it, good, the supreme value that once governed democratic countries could not possibly exist, as it is something that we should rediscover as a benchmark of our thoughts, towards the attainment of a new concept of beauty" (Luca Beatrice). Videos, photographs and performance / installation events created and signed by corpicrudi, with a transversal language between music clip, television, fashion and advertising, presented in contemporary art galleries, shows and museums, clubs and hotels, fashion shows, videoart festivals and music tour in Italy and abroad. Some corpicrudi photos and videos entered the Farm private art collection with Vanessa Beecroft, Terry Richardson, Richard Kern. In 2007 they presented on worldwide preview with LipanjePuntin artecontemporanea the international project Beautiful Untrue People, developed through MySpace online community, where fashion designers, musicians, contemporary art and fashion photographers were asked to give an interpretation of a corpicrudi concept. Collaborations with international artists, magazines and networks involved with art, fashion and music, including the famous Uk composer Clint Mansell (nominated at Golden Globe Awards 2007), the Italian haute couture designer Alessandro De Benedetti, Sephora beauty store in Rome (Louis Vuitton group), the UK female electro-pop band Client (for the 2007/08 worldwide). CORPICRUDI Samantha Stella (Genova, Italy, 1971), contemporary dance / theatre background. Sergio Frazzingaro (Genova, Italy, 1966), architect and electronic dj/producer. They live and work in Genova. Beautiful Untrue People, the first artistic project created and developed thanks to the connections born within the online community of MySpace. This project rotates around a concept jump-started by Corpicrudi (Samantha Stella and Sergio Frazzingaro) with Study for Stella last ciak , also defined as a study for Stella’s last act. This work derives its inspiration from the last act in a movie – last ciak or last untrue action – that, being by definition clearly unreal, cannot be truly final but, on the contrary, is never ending. Corpicrudi has already presented a series of photographs in Rome for the magazine Drome and a video, with again a series of photos drawn from it, taken in the Galleria Civica d’Arte Contemporanea in Trento. After developing these projects, Corpicrudi has invited a group of internationally renowned artists and mediapartners, contacted starting on August 2006 through MySpace, and selected for their visual, musical, and stylistic affinity, to give their own interpretation of the main theme mentioned above of the last ciak, through photos, videos, clothes and soundtracks, created by them, and that would be all presented under the label featuring corpicrudi. With Beautiful Untrue People Corpicrudi presents for the first time The Last Ciak Trilogy, a series of videos, which have as their main theme the last untrue action. These videos are written, directed and interpreted by Corpicrudi, with a soundtrack by Mass_prod (Italy), Client (UK), and My Park (France). From these videos originates the series of photos called Study for Stella Last Ciak . Moreover, as mentioned above, the artists featuring Corpicrudi, international musicians and djs, fashion designers and stylists, video makers and photographers, will instead interpret the theme last ciak through videos, photos, clothes and original soundtracks.
